How We Started

Perfume & Chai started with a frustration we'd all felt: walking into a fragrance shop, getting overwhelmed by choice, feeling rushed by staff, and leaving without finding anything that actually felt right.

We thought there had to be a better way.

So we built a lounge, a proper one, with comfortable seating and good chai where you could take your time. No hovering sales assistants. No pressure to buy. Just space to sit, smell, think, and decide what you actually like.

That's still what we do.

More Than a Perfume Store

From the beginning, our vision wasn't just to sell fragrances, it was to change how people experience them.

In our Northampton lounge, fragrance discovery happens at your pace. You're invited to sit, relax, and sample scents thoughtfully while enjoying a cup of our signature chai. No pressure. No sales tactics. Just time and space to find what genuinely resonates with you.

This lounge-style experience is what sets us apart and it's at the heart of everything we do, both in-person and online.

Product Philosophy

Our collection is inspired by scents you'd recognise, designer and niche fragrances that usually sit behind glass at £150 a bottle.

We work with suppliers who recreate these using quality oils and formulations designed to last. Same profiles. Better value. No inflated pricing because of a brand name on the box.

Everything's available in oils or eau de parfum, and we only stock things we'd actually wear ourselves.

Simple as that.
